EMI & Ameresco Team Up to Develop Railroad Wind Monitoring Station

EMI, known for rugged infrastructure, partners with Ameresco for a state-of-the-art wind monitoring station designed for railroad customer. This collaboration marks a significant step in transportation safety.

The station includes a forty-foot tilt-up tower with wind sensors, powered by solar panels. It’s designed to collect wind data in remote areas reliably and efficiently. It’s connected to dispatch systems, so if winds get too strong, alerts are sent out automatically, keeping everyone safe.

Moreover, it’s easily maintained without boom trucks, saving time and money for railroad operators. Plus, it deploys perfectly in places like intermodal yards, where containers move between trains and trucks.

This project highlights a joint effort to bring innovation and safety to transportation.
